Prototype

Prototype was started by 6 individuals who shared a passion for independence and fresh culture.  In 2001 they formed an alliance based on a vision of "creative collaboration” to perpetuate art, fashion, skateboarding, and Hip-Hop culture.

Today, Prototype is proud to feature artists from all over the world including the majority of artists with Hawaii roots. Every month their store hosts an art show, called "Heartists”, showcasing an individual or group of artists, with hopes to inspire creativity to their larger community.

In addition to the “Heartists” art shows, they organize skate contests, b-boy battles, and graffiti events (among other things).  Prototype’s mission is to create a network that elevates and shares Hawaii's arts and culture with the rest of the world.
